Welcome to Niella Cattery
We are located in Perth, Western Australia. Our speciality is breeding the unique and beautiful golden shaded British cat in both short and longhair. We are the only British longhair breeders in all of WA and are registered with COAWA.
Our breeding program focuses on maintaining the highest standards, ensuring each kitten is well-socialised and cared for from birth. We prioritise the health and well-being of our breeding cats and kittens above all else. Our cats are kept in a clean, hygienic area to remain healthy and in the best condition. To ensure our kittens are as healthy as possible all of our breeding cats are genetically tested for PKD (polycystic kidney disease) and ALPS (autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome) with a negative result. They are also free from FIV (feline immunodeficiency) and FeLV (feline leukaemia). We treat all our breeding cats and new kittens with the love and attention they need to thrive.
About the British Breed
British cats are a medium to large sized cat with a great temperament. They have fairly thick dense fur which make them perfect for tender cuddling and loving pats. British cats also tend to be one of the healthiest breeds of cats, prone to minimal hereditary diseases. While each cat has their own personality they tend to be an easy-going, placid, patient and tolerant breed, perfect for indoors and those with children. They do enjoy some play time, but they don’t require around the clock attention. However, expect some love and attention after a long day of work. British cats are also friendly, loyal and love to be in the vicinity of their owners. All in all, British cats are wonderful companions, if not perfection, if I do say so myself.
What is 'Niella'?
Niella is a portmanteau of “nio,” meaning “start” or “beginning,” and “bella,” meaning “beautiful.” Thus, Niella signifies “beautiful beginnings.” To us, it embodies the promise we make to everyone who purchases one of our kittens: A beautiful beginning awaits you at Niella Cattery.
